Dsi Video Blog

I spent all day today trying to create a video blog, and after a lot of trial and error I finally completed the least awkward recording of the day. Sooo check it out below or on Youtube. (Plz don't mind the rambling, I was nervous...)

DSi Review from Kelly Arsenault on Vimeo.

If you have had a chance to play with the DSi, leave me a comment and let me know what you thought! :)

  1. Okay, the "outtakes" were great - made me laugh!

The only thing I would suggest is maybe working in some video of the things you were talking about like some shots of the camera, showing the new poer button or comparing the finish of the DS Lite to the DSi.

I only have the original DS but really don't play it a lot these days, so I'm not too compelled to pick up the new one. Plus I have big man hands (what else would I have?) so I feel like the original is better for holding for me.

  2. I wanted to try and incorporate some video of the systems, but I'm pretty much inept when it comes to the basic of Windows Movie Maker so I couldn't figure out how to show other clips while still having my original audio. But I can learn for next time :)

And that makes sense, why invest to "upgrade" your system if it's just going to cause discomfort to your man hands. Thanks for the feedback!

  3. Overall very nicely done. Much better than some peoples first vlogs. I do agree with the comment about adding in images/video of the product. Just use this vid and play around with it in a editor, thats the best way to figure out what works and what doesnt. I do have one recomendation though. The accoustics in that room along with the mic your using (im guessing that its a build-in mic on a laptop but i might be wrong) lends to a hollow, or echo, sound that could be fixed just by moving to a different room or getting a new mic.

  4. Hey there. It's MildlyAmused from Twitter. Was going to do a full DSi review myself but since everyone in internet land seems to have a strong opinion one way or the other, I figured I'd leave it alone. ^_^

I picked mine up at midnight launch night and love it so far. My daughter has a GBA and I hardly have any games, so that was a non-issue for me. I love the new, non fingerprint magnet finish, the drag and drop display and the internet access. Love not having to turn the damn thing off every time I want to change games or go back to the start menu. Also really appreciative of the SD slot for added memory, once I start downloading games and apps.

I was disappointed with the lack of substantial offerings in the DSi Store but figure things will pick up eventually. I'll save my free 1000 points at least until the level 1-2 SMB calculator comes out. :P Other than that' I am extremely happy with my purchase.

FYI, I used Gamestop's trade in offer and got $70 for my Lite, and I traded in games, so the system only ended up costing me about $50.

  6. MildlyAmused:
I agree that stuff should pick up in the store after awhile. Same thing happens with just about every smartphone app store as well.

I'm happy I wasn't alone in my opinions of it. Everyone I talk to seems to be absolutely in love with it, so it's nice to know that someone else agrees with me.

    Thanks for the comments, everyone!
